"THE FATE OF TWO WORLDS"
Digimon
Adventure episode #54 (season finale)
English version written by Jeff Nimoy & Bob Buchholz
The kids engage Apocalymon in their final
battle. He attempts to use his Total Annihilation attack to
destroy everything, but the Digivices contain
its power, destroying him. The DigiWorld begins
to reformat itself to normalcy, and the kids have to leave their Digimon
behind. After some tearful goodbyes, the kids depart for Earth -
their Digimon Adventure is over.
FILE ISLAND
File Island is a small island
in the DigiWorld, though it appears to be a
nexus point for the digital matter of the DigiWorld. It was where
Gennai hid the Digivices and Digi-Eggs
of the DigiDestined to keep them from the
clutches of the Dark Masters, and it was where
the kids crashed down when they first came to the DigiWorld. File
Island is split into numerous areas, and has several important
landmarks on it. At it's centre is Infinity Mountain,
while elsewhere on the island, there is an automated factory run
by Andromon, a temple built to honour the
DigiDestined in the jungles, Toy Town somewhere
in the forests, Primary Village at the foot of
Infinity Mountain, a village of Yokomon in the
deserts, a sewer system populated by Numemon and
a graveyard inhabited by Bakemon. Devimon
was able to infect the majority of the island's
population with Black Gears, as well as to place
the gears in strategic positions around the island, such as
inside mountains. When Devimon attacked the kids, he split File
Island into small, separate islands, and split the kids up by
sending them to different islands. Once the kids destroyed the
Black Gears on each island, all the portions of the island began
to move back together again. Once Devimon was destroyed, File
Island was complete again.
When the kids travelled to Server, and
subsequently, back to Earth to halt the plans of Myotismon,
the Dark Masters emerged during the time they were away, and took
control of the DigiWorld, reconstructing its digital matter into
the massive Spiral Mountain. Once the kids
defeated the Dark Masters and their creator, Apocalymon,
the DigiWorld began to revert back to normal, beginning with File
Island and spreading outward.
FLAMEDRAMON
Group: Dragon - Level: Armour
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Fire
Rocket, Flame Fist
Flamedramon is the first Armour Digivolved form
of Veemon, the Digimon partner
of Davis of the DigiDestined.
Veemon Armour Digivolves with the Digi-Egg of Courage
to become Flamedramon - his Flame Fist attack hurls balls of fire
at his opponent, while his Fire Rocket attack sheathes him in
fire, and he dives at his enemy. "Flame Fist" was
never once called by it's correct name in the entire US series
and movie - it was always called "Fire Rocket," as was
the actual, sparingly-used Fire Rocket attack, except for one
instance when it was called by the non-existent name "Flame
Shield." "Flame Fist" was used as a name once,
when Flamedramon simply punched his opponent.
Flamedramon first appeared to battle a Monochromon
under the Digimon Emperor's control. Davis had
come to the DigiWorld with Tai, T.K.
and Kari, where he had found the Digi-Egg of
Courage, and Veemon. The group was attacked by the Emperor's
Monochromon, but no-one could Digivolve to
protect them because of the Emperor's Control Spires.
However, Veemon was able to Armour Digivolve into Flamedramon to
destroy the Monochromon's Dark Ring. He showed
up again after Veemon and Davis were freed from the Emperor's
clutches by Yolei, Cody, Halsemon
and Digmon, and then defeated a Mojyamon
in battle. He then helped the other battle a contingent of the
Emperor's Tyrannomon, and later battled RedVegiemon
in Santa Caria. He helped destroy a Control Spire in the frozen
North by holding off Frigimon, and then did
battle in the city of the Gardromon. Flamedramon
could do no harm to SkullGreymon, but joined in
the battle against viral MetalGreymon. During
this battle, Flamedramon was reverted to Veemon, but when Davis
overcome his fears of hurting MetalGreymon, who he thought of as
a friend, the Digi-Egg of Friendship activated,
and Veemon was able to become Raidramon to free MetalGreymon from
the Dark Spiral holding him. Later, Flamedramon
took on Starmon.
Some time after that, Flamedramon appeared when the kids were in
America, to battle Kokomon, the rogue Digimon
partner of Willis, a DigiDestined from Colorado.
Flamedramon was taken down by Kokomon, in his Champion
form, but was dispatched by Gargomon, the
Champion form of Terriermon, Willis's other
partner. Flamedramon appeared again the next day to help the
other Armour Digimon battle Kokomon's Ultimate
form, but they were defeated and De-Digivolved when he Digivolved
to the Mega level. Veemon and Terriermon became Magnamon
and Rapidmon to save the day. Note that this
adventure is out of continuity, but has been shoe-horned in by
the dubbers.
Flamedramon helped in the battle against Digitamamon,
but he did little damage to him, instead helping Digmon hold off
his Nightmare Syndrome while Shurimon destroyed
his Dark Spiral. Flamedramon leant a hand in the battle at ShogunGekomon's
village, and, later on, took down a Dokugumon
which had already injured Hawkmon.
Flamedramon didn't reappear for a while - Veemon stayed as
Raidramon a lot, and became Magnamon to battle Kimeramon,
and after that, Veemon naturally Digivolved to his Champion stage
of ExVeemon. He next popped up when the
DigiDestined were rebuilding a bridge, when Davis accused him of
causing a rockslide. Later, just prior to the creation of BlackWarGreymon,
Flamedramon was seen briefly, helping to destroy more Control
Spires. After this, it was a very long time before Flamedramon
reappeared.
When the kids were subjected to illusions by MaloMyotismon,
Davis, who was able to break free because he had no desires, used
the villain's dream dimension to his own ends, making a dream
come true - and allowing Veemon to Digivolve into all his
separate forms at once! Flamedramon and Armadillomon
retrieved Cody from his illusion, and then Veemon, ExVeemon,
Flamedramon, Raidramon, Paildramon, and both Imperialdramon
modes joined with all the other stages to battle MaloMyotismon,
but when he crossed the border to the DigiWorld, only the
"real" incarnation of Veemon could cross over, and so
Imperialdramon Fighter Mode went across, while the Flamedramon
avatar faded away.
Flamedramon first appears in "Enter
Flamedramon." His voice is supplied by
Steven Jay Blum.
Name: From "flame," and "dragon,"
which "dra" is short for.
FLARIZAMON
Group: Fire - Level: Champion
- Type: Data - Attack Techniques: Blaze Buster,
Raging Inferno
Flarizamon is the Digimon partner of Phil,
the African-American DigiDestined encountered by Davis,
when he went to New York, along with Mimi and Michael,
to round up wild Digimon there. Flarizamon leant a hand in the
battle with a Cherrymon at Rockafeller Centre,
in which he was aided by ExVeemon, Michael's Seadramon,
Lillymon, and a Tortomon, a Frigimon
and a Centarumon belonging to other
American DigiDestined. He reappeared in the DigiWorld later
on when MaloMyotismon was trying to infect both
worlds with darkness.
Flarizamon first appears in "Digimon
World Tour, Pt. 1."
Name: From "flare" and "lizard."
FLORAMON
Group: Vegetation - Level: Rookie
- Type: Data - Attack Techniques: Rain of
Pollen, Stamen Rope
The first Floramon the kids encountered was one of Puppetmon's
playmates, who commonly hangs around with Deramon.
She is a vegetation type, but Digivolves like a reptile. Like
Deramon, she's unhappy being one of Puppetmon's minions, and
agreed to help the DigiDestined get inside his
mansion. She and Deramon then helped them fight Puppetmon by
firing a cannon at him. When Puppetmon threatened them, they
fled, and weren't seen again.
Four years later, lots of Floramon were seen in ShogunGekomon's
village, but they, along with the Mushroomon who
also lived there, were under the control of the Digimon
Emperor, and attacked the new DigiDestined when they
showed up there. The kids managed to escape, and later destroyed
the Control Spire.
Later on, some Floramon were freed from the Digimon Emperor's
dungeons, and more were seen fleeing as Kimeramon razed a
town.
Catherine, a DigiDestined from France, had a Floramon for
a partner. She and her Floramon were captured by Giromon
and the Mamemon brothers, but were rescued by Tai, T.K.,
their Digimon, and T.K.'s grandfather. Floramon then Digivolved
into Kiwimon to help MetalGreymon and MagnaAngemon
send the villains back to the DigiWorld. This Floramon
showed up again a little later in the DigiWorld, when MaloMyotismon
was infecting both worlds with darkness.
A Floramon first appears in "Playing
Games," but was not referred to by name
(and did not receive a Digimon Analyser
screen) until "Etemon's Comeback Tour."
Catherine's Floramon first appears in "Digimon
World Tour, Pt. 2." Her voice is supplied by Mary
Elizabeth McGlynn.
Name: From the English word, "flora," meaning
plants.
"FLOWER POWER"
Digimon Adventure episode #35
English version written by R.D. Chamberlain and Jeff Nimoy &
Bob Buchholz
Myotismon shrouds Odaiba
in an impenetrable fog bank, and then has his minions capture the
city's populous, corralling them in the convention centre,
although they nearly escape when Lillymon
makes her first appearance to battle DarkTyrannomon.
FLYMON
Group: Insectoid - Level: Champion
- Type: Virus - Attack Techniques: Brown
Stinger, Poison Powder
The kids encountered a Flymon just after they had managed to
regroup. When Tai had been sucked back to Earth,
the group had split up, and although Tai had managed to gather
them up again, Sora was still missing. While
pondering their next move, the kids were attacked by Flymon. His
Brown Stinger attack had them on the ropes, until Birdramon
appeared and took him out, leading the kids to Sora's location.
Four years later, a Flymon was seen under the control of the Digimon
Emperor, who had him capture Patamon.
The Emperor almost put a Dark Spiral on the
little Digimon, but thanks to the efforts of the
other kids, he was freed.
Later, a swarm of Flymon was encountered by Yolei
and Aquilamon at the Giga House. The swarm was
under the control of Arukenimon, but when the
kids managed to undo the effects of her magic flute, they were
freed.
When Sora and Yolei were in Russia to round up wild Digimon
there, they encountered another Flymon swarm. With help from
Russian DigiDestined Anna, Sonya
and Yuri, they sent them back to the DigiWorld.
A Flymon was also later seen during the final battle with MaloMyotismon.
A Flymon first appears in "Sora's
Crest of Love."
Name: From the English word, "fly" - though it is
unclear if this is because he is able to fly, or if it's related
to the insect of the same name (though he has the appearance of a
bee or wasp, so the former would seem more likely).
"FORGET ABOUT IT!"
Digimon Adventure episode #22
English version written by R.D. Chamberlain and Jeff Nimoy &
Bob Buchholz
Tai and Agumon
return to the DigiWorld where
they run into T.K. and the evil DemiDevimon,
and are almost tricked into eating Mushrooms of
Forgetfulness.
FORGETFULNESS, MUSHROOMS OF
Mushrooms
which, when consumed, cloud the mind of the person who has eaten
them. DemiDevimon discovered them when he found
some Gazimon who had eaten them, and then tried to make Tai
and T.K. eat the mushrooms to make them
forget about the other DigiDestined and stop
TK's Crest from glowing.
The Mushrooms of Forgetfulness were used by DemiDevimon in "Forget
About It!"
FRIENDSHIP, CREST OF
The Crest of
Friendship is held by Matt of the DigiDestined.
He found his Crest at the same time as Izzy,
while the kids were hiding from Etemon at Piximon's
training ground. However, because they stepped outside the
cloaking field to obtain their Crests, they alerted Etemon to
their presence, and he sent Tyrannomon to deal
with them. Fortunately, Greymon saw Tyrannomon
off. When Tai went missing after the final battle with Etemon,
Matt and Joe wound up toiling in the restaurant
of Digitamamon, thanks to the machinations of DemiDevimon,
who was making it seems as though Joe was causing accidents that
resulted in them having to work longer to pay of their debt.
Matt's anger at Joe prevented his Crest from glowing. When
Tai and T.K. showed up, they were able
to implicate DemiDevimon as the guilty party. When Joe saved T.K
from Vegiemon, Matt's Crest began to glow, and Garurumon
Digivolved to WereGarurumon, to
dispatch Digitamamon.
When he had found his Crest originally, Matt had talked about
wanting to "Digivolve himself" - i.e.: to become a
better person. However, by the time the kids were embroiled in
battle with the Dark Masters, Matt had begun to
doubt his abilities. The only purpose he believed he had was
protecting T.K. - but when T.K. was captured by Puppetmon,
Matt became so enraged that his fellow DigiDestined made fighting
Kiwimon a priority over finding T.K. that his
Crest lost its glow. When T.K. escaped unharmed and unaided, Matt
realised T.K. didn't need him anymore, and snuck off into the
forest to be alone. There, he was approached by Cherrymon,
who convinced him to fight Tai. The Crest's glow returned to
Digivolve Gabumon to MetalGarurumon,
and the battle commenced. Matt demanded to know why he and the
other kids had been chosen to be the DigiDestined, as it meant
nothing if they couldn't understand it. A mysterious entity from
the DigiWorld's past possessed Kari,
and revealed all the secrets of their being chosen to them. Matt
was unwilling to go on with the others - he wanted to find
himself, so he could change, and grow. He and Gabumon left the
group, but when the time came for the final battle with Piedmon,
Sora found him and brought him back to the
group, where he aided in defeating the last Dark Master. His
Crest glowed more brightly than ever as he realised he and Tai
were better friends than ever before. The Crest of Friendship,
like all the other kids Crests, was then destroyed by Apocalymon.
At some point during the next four years, after the defeat of Diaboromon,
Matt gave up the powers associated with the Crest of Friendship,
as the other kids did with their Crests, to seal the DigiWorld
off from evil, rendering Gabumon unable to Digivolve to the Ultimate
level.
The Crest of Friendship first appeared in "The
Piximon Cometh." It played a important
role, obviously enough, in "The Crest of
Friendship," and was then destroyed in "Now
Apocalymon."
FRIENDSHIP, DIGI-EGG OF
The Digi-Egg of Friendship belongs to Davis
of the DigiDestined, and is used on Veemon
to Armour Digivolve him into Raidramon.
The kids found the Digi-Egg of Friendship when on the trail of
the Digimon Emperor, and the enslaved MetalGreymon,
and, as with the other Digi-Eggs before it,
no-one seemed able to lift it. Davis, being the only one who
hadn't tried to, refused to attempt it, and an attack by Flymon
interrupted everything. The Emperor and MetalGreymon then
attacked, but Garurumon arrived to help. Davis
had difficulty in understanding that they had to hurt
MetalGreymon to help him, but when he finally grasped the
concept, the Digi-Egg of Friendship activated and went to Davis,
enabling him to use it on Veemon to turn him into Raidramon, who
destroyed the Dark Spiral, freeing MetalGreymon.
The Digi-Egg of Friendship was then stored within Davis's D-Terminal.
Towards the end of the year, when the kids were drawn into MaloMyotismons
dream dimension, Davis used the power of this other world to make
a dream of their own come true and Veemon Digivolved into
all his different forms at once. The Digi-Egg of Friendship
transformed into Raidramon, who helped to save Kari
from her illusion, but when all the Digimon attempted to pass
through the portal, only the real incarnation of
Veemon could go through, while Raidramon avatar faded away.
The Digi-Egg of Friendship first appears in "Storm
Of Friendship." Its not clear
if the fact that the Raidramon avatar faded away means that the
Digi-Egg of Frienship ceased to exist, but its very likely,
given that the Japanese title for the episode was "The Last
Armour Evolution."
FRIGIMON
Group: Icy - Level: Champion
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Subzero Ice
Punch, Snow Ball
Frigimon lives in the frozen tundra area of File Island.
He's easy going and helpful, but when Tai and Agumon
first encountered him, he was infected with a Black Gear.
The kids had been split up and sent to broken up chunks of the
shattered File Island by Devimon, and Tai and
Agumon immediately ran into the infected Frigimon. After a brief
battle, Agumon was able to free him from the gear's influence. To
make up for attacking them, Frigimon used his Subzero Ice Punch
attack to create an ice bridge to the nearest chunk of the
island, where the group found Matt and Gabumon,
and helped them battle Mojyamon, who was also in
the thrall of another Black Gear. Frigimon then showed up to help
the kids build a raft to take them to the continent of Server.
When Tai was temporarily returned to the real world, he could see
a Frigimon on a news report, as one of the Digimon that was
flickering in and out of phase with Earth and causing the
abnormal weather patterens that were plaguing the globe (in this
case, a blizzard).
When the Dark Masters conquered the DigiWorld,
dissention in the ranks of the DigiDestined resulted in them
splitting up. While on their way to the decimated Primary
Village, Joe and Mimi
were joined by several of their old Digimon
friends, including Frigimon, who leant a hand in battling Piedmon.
Four years later, a group of Frigimon were seen under the control
of the Digimon Emperor in the frozen North of
the Eastern part of the DigiWorld. They were defeated by Flamedramon,
but freed when the Control Spire there was
destroyed.
A Frigimon which was partners with Steve, a
DigiDestined from American, helped out in the battle with a Cherrymon
at Rockafeller Centre, and then appeared again later on in the
DigiWorld, when MaloMyotismon was attempting to
infect both worlds with darkness. Also, several Frigimon
belonging to unnamed Russian DigiDestined were seen battling Mammothmon
in Russia.
Frigimon first appears in "Subzero
Ice Punch!" His voice, supplied by Bill
Capeze, is styled after that of the late comedian, Jackie Vernon,
who was the voice of Frosty the Snowman.
Name: From the English word, "frigid,"
meaning cold.
"FUSION CONFUSION"
Digimon Adventure 02 episode #27
English version written by Seth Walther and Jeff Nimoy & Bob
Buchholz
Paildramon battles Okuwamon,
as the DigiDestined try to prevent the
reactor of Ken's base from exploding.
When Paildramon finishes the job, Izzy then
explains to them what DNA Digivolving is,
and tells them the story of how the original DigiDestined
gave up the powers of their Crests.
