AGUMON
Group: Reptile - Level: Rookie
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Pepper
Breath, Claw Attack
Agumon Digivolves from Koromon,
and is the Digimon of Tai, the
leader of the DigiDestined. He first appeared,
like the other kids' Rookie Digimon, to battle Kuwagamon.
Much like Tai, he is brave, and doesn't back down from a fight in
a hurry. He's humble by nature, but his powerful Pepper Breath
attack, which involves him shooting a fireball from his mouth,
teaches other Digimon not to underestimate him.
Agumon would Digivolve into his Champion form of
Greymon whenever Tai was imperilled, doing so
for the first time to protect Tai from Shellmon.
However, after accidentally Digivolving to SkullGreymon,
Agumon was afraid to Digivolve again, in case he wound up hurting
his friends. Thanks to Piximon, he and Tai
overcame their fears and mastered the Ultimate
level Digivolution, allowing Agumon to become MetalGreymon.
After defeating Etemon, Tai and Agumon were
sucked through a portal back to the real world, where they
learned that Digimon were somehow crossing between dimensions and
causing the weird weather that was plaguing the globe. After a
battle with Ogremon, they went back to the DigiWorld
to gather up the other kids. Agumon again returned to the real
world along with Tai and the others during the ongoing
confrontation with Myotismon. By this time, it
was apparent that he and Gabumon had attained
more control over their Digivolutions, as they only reverted back
into their rookie stages after becoming Ultimates. After
defeating VenomMyotismon, by Digivolving to his Mega
stage of WarGreymon, Agumon then went back to the
DigiWorld to help Tai and the other kids battle the Dark
Masters and Apocalymon.
The Japanese Wonderswan video games add a little to Agumon's
story here - at some point after Apocalymon's defeat, he teamed
up with Ryo to rescue the
DigiDestined from the clutches of Millenniummon.
In Novemember 1999, a gate between the DigiWorld and Earth opened
briefly, allowing Agumon to communicate with Tai. This was
revealed in a Japanese audio drama CD, released three years after
season one ended. In March 2000, when Diaboromon
threatened the Internet, Tai and Izzy communicated with Gennai
and had him send Agumon and Tentomon into the Internet,
where they battled with Keramon, Diaboromon's Rookie
stage. Keramon Digivolved to Infermon and defeated Greymon
and Kabuterimon, and then, when Matt and Gabumon
came into play, Infermon became Diaboromon, and WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon
fused into Omnimon to destroy him.
In May 2000, Agumon and the other Digimon lost their ability to
Digivolve to Ultimate when the DigiDestined gave up the energies
associated with their Crests to seal the
DigiWorld off from evil.
Four years later, when the Digimon Emperor began
his conquest of the DigiWorld, Agumon summoned Tai to help.
Arriving in the DigiWorld, Tai learned that the Digimon had been
rendered unable to Digivolve by the power of the Emperor's Dark Digivice.
Taking cover, Agumon, Tai, Patamon and Gatomon
discovered the Digi-Egg of Courage, which
released three new Digivices when Tai touched it. The Digivices
were sent into the real world, to be received by Davis,
Yolei and Cody - the new
DigiDestined.
When the new kids discovered that the Emperor's Control
Spires were suppressing Digivolving, Agumon destroyed
several as Greymon, along with the other
Champion Digimon. Agumon and each of the other Digimon were given
an area of the DigiWorld to guard. However, the Digimon Emperor
had plans for Agumon, and captured him, while he was Greymon,
with one of his Dark Rings. The Emperor
attempted to make Greymon Digivolve to battle the DigiDestined,
but he wound up becoming SkullGreymon once again. When he
reverted back to Agumon, the Emperor captured him, and created
the Dark Spiral, a more powerful version of the
Dark Ring, planning to use it on Agumon. However, Wormmon,
the Emperor's partner, wanted him to use him to fight, rather
than Agumon, and set Agumon free. The Emperor simply tracked him
down again, and succeeded in capturing him with the Spiral.
Agumon then Dark Digivolved into a viral version
of MetalGreymon (his power to become Ultimate temporarily
restored by the Spiral), and battled the DigiDestined, until Raidramon
was able to destroy the Spiral and free him.
Agumon appeared again to help cause a distraction to allow the
DigiDestined to access the Emperor's base, by igniting a stream
of oil, with help from Gabumon and Tentomon.
Some time later, when Arukenimon and Mummymon
created BlackWarGreymon, Agumon attempted to
talk with the embittered Digimon, to convince him that he did
have a heart, and that he would be his friend. The conversation
was ended when BlackWarGreymon was caused pain by Knightmon
breaking one of the seals on the first Destiny Stone,
and BlackWarGreymon left to seek out the pain's source. Later on,
Agumon and all the other Digimon of the original eight kids were
brought back into the real world to celebrate Christmas with
their human partners - only the festivities were cut short when
Control Spires started to appear all across the world, and wild
Digimon made it through to Earth as Arukenimon opened all the Digi-Ports.
Gennai gave the original eight Digimon a power
boost from Azulongmon's Digi-Core, restoring
their ability to Digivolve to Ultimate, and Agumon went with Tai,
T.K. and Patamon to Paris, where they met up
with T.K.'s Grandfather. Discovering that a French DigiDestined
girl, Catherine, was being held prisoner by Mamemon,
BigMamemon, MetalMamemon and Giromon,
Agumon and Patamon - somewhat enamoured by Catherine's Floramon
- became MetalGreymon and MagnaAngemon
to send them back to the DigiWorld and destroy the Control Spire.
Returning to Odaiba to meet up with the other DigiDestined, they
discovered that Daemon and his minions had
arrived on Earth, in search of Ken and the Dark
Spore within him. The Ultimate Digimon battled SkullSatamon,
but were bested by him. In order to give Imperialdramon
the power he needed, the eight Digimon once again sacrificed
their ability to Digivolve to Ultimate, boosting Imperialdramon's
power and enabling him to Mode Change into his
Fighter Mode to destroy SkullSatamon. They returned to the
DigiWorld.
Agumon came back to Earth once more with the news that
BlackWarGreymon was back, and he was searching for Oikawa,
the mysterious man who had already copied Ken's Dark Spore, and
who was the creator of Arukenimon and Mummymon. BlackWarGreymon
tracked Oikawa down, but Tai, Kari, Agumon and
Gatomon showed up, and Agumon, receiving another power boost from
Azulongmon, was able to Warp-Digivolve to WarGreymon once again
to battle BlackWarGreymon. With help from Imperialdramon, he
defeated him, and reverted to Agumon, to try and talk sense into
BlackWarGreymon along with Wormmon and Veemon.
BlackWarGreymon departed to think on what they had said, but was
later critically injured in battle with Oikawa, who had become
empowered by the forces of darkness. BlackWarGreymon sacrificed
what remained of his life, sealing up the portal to the DigiWorld
at Highton View Terrace, as WarGreymon called
out his name as he vanished.
Agumon appeared again with all the other Digimon, and all the
other Digimon of the world's DigiDestined, to witness the
destruction of MaloMyotismon.
Three months later, when it was discovered that Diaboromon had
survived the battle four years beforehand, Agumon, Gabumon, Tai
and Matt ventured into the Internet once more to confront him.
Agumon and Gabumon became Omnimon, and destroyed Diaboromon with
help from Angemon and Angewomon,
but he lived on as millions of Kuramon, who
entered the real world and became Armageddemon.
Omnimon was no match for Armageddemon, and after being defeated,
separated back into Agumon and Gabumon as his energy transformed
nto a holy ring, which became the Omega Sword and transformed Imperialdramon
to his Paladin Mode, enabling him to defeat Armageddemon.
Twenty-five years later, the portal to the DigiWorld remains
open, and Agumon remains at Tai's side - they are both diplomats,
dealing with relations between the real and digital worlds.
Agumon first appeared in "And so it
begins..." In the first two episodes, he is
voiced by Michael Lindsay. After this, his voice is supplied by
Tom Fahn.
Name: "Agu" is most probably short for the
Japanese word "agurabana," which means a wide, flat
nose.
OTHER AGUMON
Four years before "And so it
begins..." as detailed in "Digimon:
The Movie", when a Digi-Egg
arrived on Earth, it hatched, and an Agumon Digivolved from the
Digimon which emerged. This Agumon (identified as "Big
Agumon" in the movie's credits) went on a destructive jaunt
through Odaiba, until
another Digimon, Parrotmon
appeared, and engaged the Agumon in battle. It Digivolved into a
Greymon, and the two Digimon battled. The outcome of the battle
was revealed to the kids in "The Ultimate
Clash," showing how the two Digimon were
brought back to the digital world. This Agumon's voice was
supplied by Michael Sorich.
AIRDRAMON
Group: Mythical Animal -
Level: Champion - Type: Vaccine
- Attack Techniques: Spinning Needle, God Tornado
The first time an Airdramon appeared was actually just after the
destruction of VenomMyotismon - it was seen on a
news broadcast for a mere second.
Four years later, however, the Digimon Emperor
had squadrons of Airdramon under the control of his Dark
Rings. The first time on appeared was when he used one
to escape from the new DigiDestined when they
discovered his true identity. After that, he used them to carry
the Dark Ring-possessed Greymon to battle the
DigiDestined When Greymon Digivolved to SkullGreymon,
and then reverted to Agumon, the Airdramon again
carried him away. After the Emperor captured Agumon again with a Dark
Spiral, and Dark Digivolved him into MetalGreymon,
a squadron of Airdramon accompanied the Emperor as he rode on the
viral creature's back. When Raidramon destroyed
the Spiral, an Airdramon swooped down to pick up the Emperor and
flee.
A squadron of Airdramon shot down Birdramon and
left her stranded in a desert, to be ambushed by Starmon,
and then Pegasusmon and Angewomon
battled another Airdramon in the World of Darkness.
Rather than remove the Dark Ring possessing it, however,
Angewomon elected to destroy it with her Heaven's Charm attack.
The Emperor and Wormmon were seen riding an Airdramon after a
setting up a Control Spire near the village
ruled by ShogunGekomon.
Airdramon data was also spliced into Kimeramon
by the Emperor, giving the creature Airdramon wings, and much
later, an Airdramon partnered with Tatum, an
Irish-American DigiDestined was seen in New York when Digimon
were rampaging on Earth. Several Airdramon were also sighted on
the China/India border. Multiple Airdramon (one of which would
have been Tatum’s) were then seen during the final
confrontation with MaloMyotismon.
An Airdramon first appears in "The
Battle for Earth." They first appear under
the Emperor's control in "Ken's
Secret."
Name: From "air" and "dragon," which
"dra" is short for.

"ALMOST HOME FREE"
Digimon Adventure episode #30
English version written by R.D. Chamberlain and Jeff Nimoy
& Bob Buchholz
The kids continue on their way back home with a little help from Sora's
cousin, only to run into trouble in the form of Gesomon.
ANDROMON
Group: Android - Level: Ultimate
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Lightning
Blade, Gatling Attack
Andromon is equipped with radar target locks in his eye sockets,
with which he can lock onto his targets and fire. He has twin
missile launchers concealed under his chest plate.
The kids met Andromon when they discovered a mysterious factory
in the DigiWorld. Andromon had fallen victim to
a Black Gear, and was in the process of chasing
the kids when Izzy found the factory's power
source and tapped his computer into it, allowing him access to
the DigiWorld mainframe. Tentomon Digivolved
to Kabuterimon and released Andromon from the
Black Gear's thrall. When asked about the factory, which was
powered by perpetual motion, Andromon admitted that even he
didn't understand how it worked.
The kids encountered Andromon again when they were battling the Dark
Masters. Andromon was attempting to assemble an
underground resistance force to fight Machinedramon,
and aided the kids in battling him. WarGreymon
finished off the Dark Master, and Andromon accompanied Tai,
Izzy, Sora, Kari and T.K.
on their way to battle Piedmon. On the way, they were
attacked by Piedmon's bodyguard, LadyDevimon. Andromon
helped them fight her, and then Angewomon defeated her.
Then, Piedmon emerged, and Tai and WarGreymon held him off, while
Sora and T.K. were dispatched to find Matt. They
succeeded, and also brought Joe back with them. Piedmon used his
magic powers to transform Matt, Tai, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon
into key chains, and then Andromon duelled with the sinister
clown, giving the kids time to escape. However, he lost, and was
also transformed. When MagnaAngemon retrieved the key
chains, he used his MagnaAntidote to restore Andromon and the
others to normal. Andromon then helped the kids, and the small
army of Digimon that Mimi had gathered, battle Piedmon's
Vilemon. MagnaAngemon sucked them all into his Gate of Destiny,
and Andromon and the other Digimon departed. However, the kids
were soon attacked by Apocalymon, and following his
defeat, Andromon appeared to congratulate the kids, and explain
that the DigiWorld was being reformatted and restored to
normalcy.
Four years later, Andromon appeared again, under the control of
one of the Digimon Emperor's Dark Rings.
He attacked the DigiDestined in the city of the Gardromon,
but the Ring was not powerful enough to completely control him.
Seeing Tai's goggles on Davis, and then seeing
Kari, began to restore some of his memories, and then Tai's
arrival, along with the power of Kari's D-3,
freed Andromon from the Ring's control. He snapped it free from
his neck, and used his Gatling Attack to destroy the Control
Spire. He then began to free the Gardromon and said he
would stay in the city to safeguard it.
Andromon first appears in "Kabuterimon's
Electro Shocker." His voice is supplied by
Michael Sorich.
Name: Derived from the English word, "android,"
meaning a robot with human form.
"AND SO IT BEGINS..."
Digimon Adventure episode #1
(season premiere)
English version written by R.D. Chamberlain and John Ludin
Seven kids go to summer camp and find themselves transported to a
bizarre alternate dimension, where they meet up with a collection
of creatures who call themselves Digimon: Digital
Monsters, who Digivolve to protect the kids from Kuwagumon.
ANGEMON
Group: Angel - Level: Champion
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Hand of
Fate, Angel Rod
Angemon Digivolves from Patamon,
the Digimon of T.K. of the DigiDestined.
During their early battles with Devimon and his
minions, Patamon seemed incapable of Digivolving. During the
final battle, Devimon turned on Patamon and T.K., as it had been
prophesied that the smallest one would defeat him. He was intent
on making sure that did not happen, but before he could dispatch
them, Patamon finally Digivolved to Angemon. He drew power from
all the other kids' Digivices and used all his
energy to destroy Devimon. He then regressed back into the form
of a Digi-Egg.
Soon, the egg hatched into Poyomon, who later
Digivolved to Tokomon, then back to Patamon. It
was not until the kids returned to the real world that Patamon
again Digivolved to Angemon. Patamon and T.K. got into an
argument, and Patamon ran off, leaving T.K., Matt
and Gabumon to look for him. Instead, they found
Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, who
were found to be goofing off from their search for the Eighth
Child by Myotismon, and were destroyed as a
result. T.K. was so upset that Patamon Digivolved again, and saw
Myotismon off. Angemon then had a hand in defeating Myotismon
again, along with Angewomon, and then leant his
power in the final battle with VenomMyotismon.
Patamon seemed to gain more control over his Digivolutions from
then onwards, and was able to Digivolve whenever T.K. was in
peril, defending him against the Dark Masters and their
minions. He finally Digivolved to his Ultimate stage
of MagnaAngemon to do battle with Piedmon.
Four years later, when the Digimon Emperor was
conquering the DigiWorld, Patamon was reunited
with T.K., but the Emperor's Control Spires made
him unable to Digivolve into Angemon when in their presence.
However, when attempting to free Kari from a
city of Gardromon, Patamon was able to become
Angemon due to the fact the Control Spire in the region was only
inside the city's dome, and not affecting the outside area.
Angemon deactivated the Gardromon sentry, but then De-Digivolved
to Patamon when he and the others entered the city, and the
Control Spire's energy field.
At an undefined point in time between the discovery of the Digi-Egg
of Friendship and the defeat of the Digimon Emperor,
Angemon appeared to battle Kokomon, the rogue
Digimon partner of Willis, a DigiDestined from
America. Kokomon, in his Mega form of Kerpymon,
had already defeated the other Armour Digimon,
but Angemon and Angewomon arrived to help in the battle.
Realising they alone did not have the strength to defeat Kokomon,
they called upon all their energy, and Digivolved into their own
Mega stages. Angemon Warp-Digivolved to Seraphimon,
and released the Digi-Egg of Miracles before
being cut down by Kokomon and reverted to Patamon. Kokomon was
subsequently defeated by Magnamon and Rapidmon
(Note that this appearance, which occurred in "Digimon:
The Movie" is actually supposed to be out
of continuity with the rest of the series, but was shoe-horned in
by the American translators, and must be included here. However,
take note that Angemon's ability to Digivolve to Seraphimon is
solely confined to the movie, and does not impact on the rest of
the series).
Angemon reappeared shortly after the Digimon Emperor was restored
to his normal self. Patamon Digivolved to Angemon to help the
other new Champions battled Okuwamon, who had
been created by Arukenimon. However, he was
quickly beaten.
Angemon then appeared once more to battle BlackWarGreymon
and defend the second Destiny Stone. He
was able to use the stone to give himself a power boost, allowing
himself to become MagnaAngemon (having previously lost the
ability to go Ultimate in the four year interim when the
DigiDestined gave up the powers of their Crests
to seal the DigiWorld off from evil). BlackWarGreymon was on the
ropes, but then destroyed the Destiny Stone, causing MagnaAngemon
to revert to Patamon.
Angemon appeared again to battle BlackWarGreymon with Silphymon
and Paildramon, and he and Ankylomon DNA
Digivolved into Shakkoumon.
A power boost from Azulongmon restored Angemon's
ability to Digivolve to Ultimate, and he did so when in France
with T.K., Tai and Greymon, to
save Catherine, a French DigiDestined, from the Mamemons
and Giromon, and to destroy the Control Spire
that had appeared there. He, along with the other original seven
Digimon, then gave up his power to go Ultimate to give Imperialdramon
the power to Mode Change. Angemon and Ankylomon
then merged into Shakkoumon to battle MarineDevimon,
and then the malevolent Daemon. The three DNA
Digivolved Ultimates sent Daemon through a portal to the World
of Darkness.
Angemon appeared again when the DigiDestined found themselves in
the dream dimension of MaloMyotismon, when the
kids were subjected to illusions of their greatest desires. When
they won through, they were able to use the power of the dream
dimension to their own ends, and their Digimon physically split
into their separate evolutionary stages. Patamon, Pegasusmon,
Angemon, MagnaAngemon and Shakkoumon joined with all the other
stages to battle MaloMyotismon, but when he crossed the border to
the DigiWorld, only the "real" incarnation of Patamon
could cross over, and so Shakkoumon went across, while the
Angemon avatar faded away.
Three months later, when it was discovered that Diaboromon
had survived his battle with Omnimon four years
beforehand, Angemon and Angewomon aided Omnimon in battling him
once more. The two angels seized the villain, holding him so
Omnimon could destroy him. However, he lived on as millions of Kuramon,
which entered the real world and became Armageddemon, who was
destroyed by Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. Strangely, in this
adventure, Angemon was animated many times larger than his normal
size.
Angemon first appears in "The Legend of
the DigiDestined." Note that in this
episode, he and all the other characters pronounce his name
"Ayne-Jeh-Mon." However, in his next appearance in "Out
on the Town," and all subsequent
appearances, his name is pronounced "An-Jeh-Mon." His
voice is supplied by Dave Mallow.
Name: Derived from the English word, "angel."
ANGEWOMON
Group: Angel - Level: Ultimate
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Celestial
Arrow, Heaven's Charm
Angewomon is the Digivolved form of Gatomon.
Originally, Gatomon had been one of Myotismon's
minions in his assault on the real world and his search for the
Eighth Child, but thanks to Wizardmon, she was
able to remember that she was in fact destined to be the Digimon
of the Eighth Child, who was in fact Kari Kamiya,
the little sister of Tai Kamiya,
the leader of the DigiDestined. When Kari
obtained her Digivice and Tag
and Crest, Gatomon was able to Digivolve into
Angewomon, and used her Celestial Arrow attack to destroy
Myotismon. When Myotismon returned as VenomMyotismon,
Angewomon directed her attack at Tai, as per the requirements of
a prophecy uncovered by Gennai, allowing Agumon
to Warp-Digivolve to WarGreymon,
who, along with MetalGarurumon, went on to beat
VenomMyotismon. Gatomon then went back to the DigiWorld
with Kari and the other kids, and Digivolved to Angewomon
whenever Kari was in peril, protecting her against Puppetmon
and his mansion, WaruMonzaemon, Machinedramon, and
went one-on-one with LadyDevimon. She was transformed into
a key chain by Piedmon, and then restored by MagnaAngemon,
and helped in the battle against the Vilemon and then Apocalymon.
Gatomon lost the ability to Digivolve into Angewomon in May
2000,, when each of the DigiDestined had to give up the powers
associated with their Crests to seal the
DigiWorld off from evil.
Four years later, when the Digimon Emperor was
conquering the DigiWorld, at one point, Kari found herself drawn
into a strange third dimension - the World of Darkness
- where a group of supposed Digimon calling themselves Scubamon
asked her free them from Dark Spirals they said
the Emperor had put on them. However, an Airdramon
then attacked, but T.K., Patamon
and Gatomon arrived through a portal to fight it. Pegasusmon
destroyed the Control Spire nearby, and then, a
beam of pink light shot down from the heavens. Gatomon leapt into
the beam, and was temporarily powered up enough to Digivolve into
Angewomon. Angewomon destroyed the Airdramon with her Heaven's
Charm attack, then freed the Scubamon from the Spirals. However,
the "Scubamon" - who were not really Digimon (see
their own entry for information) - turned on Kari, and tried
to take her to their undersea kingdom. Angewomon saw them off,
and then she carried Kari back through the portal to Earth.
When she reverted to Gatomon (off-screen), she no longer
had the power to Digivolve back into Angewomon. Regardless, at an
undefined point in time between the discovery of the Digi-Egg
of Friendship and the defeat of the Digimon Emperor,
Angewomon appeared to battle Kokomon, the rogue
Digimon partner of Willis, a DigiDestined from
America. Kokomon, in his Mega form of Kerpymon,
had already defeated the other Armour Digimon,
but Angemon and Angewomon arrived to help in the battle.
Realising they alone did not have the strength to defeat Kokomon,
they called upon all their energy, and Digivolved into their own
Mega stages. Angewomon Digivolved to Magnadramon,
and released the Digi-Egg of Destiny (see Golden
Digi-Eggs) before being cut down by Kokomon and reverted
to Gatomon. Kokomon was subsequently defeated by Magnamon
and Rapidmon (Note that this appearance,
which occurred in "Digimon: The Movie"
is actually supposed to be out of continuity with the rest of the
series, but was shoe-horned in by the American translators, and
must be included here. However, take note that Angewomon's
ability to Digivolve to Magnadramon is solely confined to the
movie, and does not impact on the rest of the series. The fact
that it is out of continuity is explanation as to why Angewomon
is able to appear when Gatomon has lost the ability to go
Ultimate).
Some time later, Gennai was able to give all the
original eight Digimon a power boost with Azulongmon's
Digi-Core, restoring their ability to Digivolve to Ultimate.
Angewomon and MegaKabuterimon then went with
Kari and Izzy to China, as the other
DigiDestined headed off to other spots around the world to round
up rogue Digimon, where they met the Poi Brothers,
and then had help from them and their Digimon in getting another
group of Digimon across the India/China border.
Angewomon and Kari returned to Odaiba to meet up
with the other DigiDestined, only to discover that an evil
Digimon named Daemon had come to Earth with his
minions in search of Ken and the Dark
Spore within him. Angewomon and the other Ultimates
battled SkullSatamon, but he defeated them all.
In order to give Imperialdramon the power to
defeat him, Gatomon and the other original Digimon gave up the
power to go Ultimate once more, which Imperialdramon used to Mode
Change to Fighter Mode and destroy SkullSatamon.
When they were trapped in the dream dimension of MaloMyotismon.
Kari and the other DigiDestined used the mystic nature of the
dimension to make their dreams come true, and Gatomon separated
into all her forms - Gatomon, Angewomon, Nefertimon
and Silphymon joined with all the other stages to battle
MaloMyotismon, but when he crossed the border to the DigiWorld,
only the "real" incarnation of Gatomon could cross
over, and so Silphymon went across, while the Angewomon avatar
faded away.
Three months later, when it was discovered that Diaboromon
had survived his battle with Omnimon four years
beforehand, Angewomon and Angemon aided Omnimon in battling him
once more. The two angels seized the villain, holding him so
Omnimon could destroy him. However, he lived on as millions of Kuramon,
which entered the real world and became Armageddemon, who was
destroyed by Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. Strangely, in this
adventure, Angewomon was animated many times larger than her
normal size. Also, given that Agumon and Gabumon
were able to form Omnimon, and that Gatomon was
able to become Angewomon, it's evident that the Digimon's power
to Digivolve to Ultimate and beyond has been restored at this
point.
Angewomon first appears in "Wizardmon's
Gift." Her voice is supplied by Edie
Mirman.
Name: Derived from the English word, "angel," and
the "wo" is from "woman."
ANKYLOMON
Group: Dinosaur - Level: Champion
- Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Tail
Hammer, Megaton Press
Ankylomon is the Digivolved form of Armadillomon,
the Digimon partner of Cody of
the DigiDestined. Armadillomon first Digivolved
into Ankylomon to protect Cody from Thundermon,
who they encountered while tunnelling underground during the
kids' rebuilding chores. The battle made its way up to ground
level, but then Thundermon was destroyed by Stingmon.
In this first appearance, Ankylomon was gigantic, but when he
appeared later, he was always much smaller.
Ankylomon appeared again to help the other Champions battle Okuwamon.
Later, they were all seen destroying more Control Spires,
and then Ankylomon appeared again to battle the insectoid
inhabitants of the Giga House, and BlackWarGreymon.
Ankylomon then popped up in the aftermath of Silphymon's
battle with Blossomon, and then again to help
battle Knightmon to prevent him from destroying
the first Destiny Stone, and again, to help stop
BlackWarGreymon from destroying another stone, although they
failed both times. When battling to protect the final Destiny
Stone from BlackWarGreymon, Ankylomon and Angemon
were finally able to DNA Digivolve to Shakkoumon,
and hold of BlackWarGreymon, until Azulongmon
emerged from the final stone and stopped the battle. Ankylomon
appeared again during the battle at Christmas to DNA Digivolve
with Angemon again.
Ankylomon took part in the battle with SkullSatamon,
but was easily beaten along with the other Champions and Ultimates,
but Imperialdramon managed to defeat the villain
by Mode Changing to his Fighter Mode. Ankylomon
then DNA Digivolved with Angemon to fight MarineDevimon,
and then the evil Daemon himself, and send him
into the World of Darkness with help from the
other DNA Digivolved Digimon. Ankylomon was then present when the
kids arrived in MaloMyotismon's dream dimension.
After the kids defeated the illusions MaloMyotismon subjected
them to, Armadillomon and all the other Digimon Digivolved into
their separate forms at once, and Armadillomon, Ankylomon, Digmon,
Submarimon and Shakkoumon joined with all the
other stages to battle MaloMyotismon, but when he crossed the
border to the DigiWorld, only the "real" incarnation of
Armadillomon could cross over, and so Shakkoumon went across,
while the Ankylomon avatar faded away.
Ankylomon first appears in "If I had a
Tail Hammer." His voice is supplied by
Robert Axelrod.
Name - from "ankylosaurus," a type of
dinosaur.
ANNA
Anna is one of the three Russian DigiDestined,
partnered with a Unimon, who helped Yolei
and Sora dispatch a horde of Flymon
and Mammothmon back to the DigiWorld.
Anna appeared again when MaloMyotismon
threatened to infect both Earth and the DigiWorld with darkness.
Anna appears in "Digimon World Tour, Pt.
3" and "A Million

ANTYLAMON
Group: Animal -
Level: Ultimate - Type: Virus -
Attack Techniques: Meditation Cure, Arm Bomber
Antylamon is the Ultimate form of Kokomon, the
estranged Digimon partner of Willis,
a DigiDestined from Colorado. Antylamon appeared
when Endigomon Digivolved to battle Gargomon
and the other DigiDestined's Armour Digimon,
cutting a swathe through them, smashing the Armours into and
through cliffsides, and skimming Gargomon out across a lake. When
he was surrounded by them, he sank beneath the waters of the
late, and emerged in his Mega form of Kerpymon.
Things looked bleak, until Veemon and Terriermon used the power
of the Golden Digi-Eggs to become Magnamon
and Rapidmon, and destroyed the virus within
Kerpymon. Kerpymon reverted to his Vaccine form,
and then deleted, but not long after, he was reconfigured as a Digi-Egg.
Antylamon appears in "Digimon: The
Movie," but is not referred to by
name - like all his forms, he is just referred to as
"Kokomon."
Many changes were made to the portion of the movie in which
Kokomon appears in the American version. Check out the
"Kokomon" and "Willis" entries to read more
about these.
Name: A corruption of his Japanese name,
"Antiramon," which comes from "Antira," one
of the twelve Devas from Sanskrit.
APEMON
Group: Animal - Level: Champion - Type: Vaccine
- Attack Techniques: Mega Bone Stick, Metallic Fur
Apemon appeared in the city of Kyoto along with Musyamon,
following BlackWarGreymon. Yolei
and Ken were present there, and in the ensuing
battle, Stingmon hurled Apemon
back into the DigiWorld through the gate they
had used to enter in the nearby river.
When MaloMyotismon was infecting the Earth with
darkness, an Asian DigiDestined named
Yuehon called out "Apemon!" when holding her Digivice
to the sky - she obviously had an Apemon for a Digimon
partner, and an Apemon was seen amongst all the other
Digimon present at the time.
An Apemon first appears in "A Chance
Encounter." For some inexplicable reason,
he spoke with a French accent, with a voice supplied by Richard
Epcar.
Name: From "ape."
